How do I enroll my child in Gold Standard Pediatrics?
Please call our clinic at 864-318-0220 to arrange a complimentary visit to discuss the specific details of membership. You are under no obligation to join. If you decide that you would like to enroll your child in the Gold Standard Pediatrics program, we will simply ask you to complete and sign a Membership Agreement.
If my child is a member of Gold Standard Pediatrics, do they still need health insurance?
Yes. The Gold Standard Pediatrics membership is for Primary Medical Care Services only. You should keep major medical insurance for your child that covers the costs of Emergency care or Hospital care should they need those services.
What do I do if my child has a medical emergency?
Call 911 to access your local Emergency Medical Service or take your child to the nearest Hospital Emergency Department for evaluation and treatment.
Can the fees that I pay Gold Standard Pediatrics for my child's primary medical care be applied toward the deductible for their insurance?
We don't know. We encourage you to discuss this matter with a representative from your insurance plan.
If my child is a member, will I have to pay additional fees for clinic visits?
No. The cost of clinic visits (up to 36 visits per child per year) is included in the membership. You may encounter additional charges for things such as prescription medications, childhood immunizations and certain laboratory tests but you will be informed of any additional charges before the service is provided. You retain the right to decline any services that would result in additional charges.
What if my child needs to have an X-ray?
X-ray studies are not performed in the clinic. We are aware of the expense involved in obtaining radiographic tests so we will only request these studies when they are needed to direct the treatment of your child's medical condition. When radiologic studies are indicated, we will help you get the lowest price for any test your child may need.
What happens if my child needs to be in the hospital?
At Gold Standard Pediatrics, we provide only outpatient acute care and well care services. In order to keep costs low, Dr. Hill does not maintain admitting privileges at any area hospitals. If your child needs to be treated in the hospital, they will be cared for by the Hospitalist Service at the hospital of your choice. Dr. Hill will communicate directly with the hospital physician and give them whatever information they need to provide the best medical care for your child. Once your child has been discharged from the hospital, Dr. Hill will resume responsibility for your child's medical care.
Does my child have to join for an entire year?
No. The membership is month-to-month and you can discontinue the membership at anytime.
Does my child have to be a member in order to receive services at Gold Standard Pediatrics?
No. Although membership in the Gold Standard Pediatrics program offers the best value, children can be seen on a one-time basis. Please see the MEMBERSHIP & FEES tab for single-visit pricing.
If my child receives Medicaid or Medicare benefits, can I submit charges from Gold Standard Pediatrics to Medicaid or Medicare for reimbursement?
No. In order for claims to be covered by Medicaid or Medicare they must be submitted directly to the plan by a participating provider. Neither Dr. Hill nor any of his colleagues participate in any Medicaid health plans and they have opted-out of participation in Medicare. The beneficiary MAY NOT submit any charges directly to Medicaid or Medicare for services provided by this practice.
